HARTMAN Heating is Committed to Our Environment
Our commitment is not only in what we provide to our customers, but also in our own actions. Within our company we use:
- Higher efficiency heating and cooling equipment.
- Generally choose "Energy Star" items.
- We attempt to optimize travel and deliveries to route vehicles via the shortest distance.
- Our computerized dispatch system aids us in "grouping" out service fleet to keep the same vehicle in the same area thus preventing vehicles traveling "criss/cross" across the valley.
- Programmable thermostats.
- Motion sensors and time clocks for lighting.
- We also plan to utilize the service person in the location in which they live (i.e. Summit County, Herriman, Sandy, etc.).
In the environmental arena...
- We recently purchased two hybrid vehicles getting over 50 mpg for our estimators.
- We recover and recycle all refrigerants and have invested in refrigerant recovery machines for all 18 service vehicles.
- We collect all mercury from thermostats to prevent it from reaching landfills and deliver it to the proper facility.
- We use permanent utensils, plates and cups in our company lunch room and kitchen when possible.
- We pay to have cardboard picked up to recycle. We recycle all our metal, copper and aluminum.
- We recover all oils from A/C compressors and deliver them to an approved waste oil handling facility.
- We have a company awareness plan to reduce consumption of expendable items.
